Abstract
Objective: Since 2005, the Zionist regime has implemented a series of security, economic, military, and political strategies toward Gaza with the declared aim of reducing the costs of occupation
Method: This study adopts a qualitative and analytical approach based on geopolitical and political–strategic analysis. It examines key policy phases—including unilateral withdrawal, economic blockade, military operations, and political-diplomatic interventions—by tracing their intended objectives and actual outcomes in the regional and intra-Palestinian context.
Findings: The findings show that the unilateral withdrawal from Gaza, intended to reduce military costs and improve international legitimacy, instead contributed to the strengthening of Hamas and the escalation of conflict. The economic blockade failed to weaken Hamas and, contrary to its objectives, reinforced deepened the legitimacy crisis within the Palestinian political system.
Conclusion: The cumulative outcome of these strategies has placed the Zionist regime in a geopolitical vortex—and reinforced the very conditions they were designed to eliminate
