The Approach of the Quarterly Journal of Political Studies in the Islamic World

Aims

“Islamic World” is the known name in the political and cultural literature.  The ‘Islamic World” is more than a geographic location, that is, it represents the identity of about one and a half billion people that have a common religion and ethic.

In addition to demographic characteristics of the Islamic world, Islamic lands also are the richest areas of the planet geographically, ecologically and natural resources. Facilities and attributes of these lands over the centuries have led to the Islamic World play a very important and influential role in the international relations arena. In this case, the rate of utilization of the potential and actual capabilities of the Islamic world are so important and it needs to determine goals and proper and principled planning.

The Islamic World so called is a human community with about one and a half billion Muslims which live in Islamic and non- Islamic countries.  The thing that connects this massive population to one another in spite of ethnic, racial and linguistic differences is the religion of Islam. It can be said geographically that followers of Islam are on the different continents of the world. One billion Muslims live in Asia. Some391 million Muslims live in Africa. Some 20 million Muslims live in Europe and 27 million Muslims in Russia. Also, some 1.5 million Muslims reside in Latin America and 9 million Muslims in America and Canada.  

A study on the Important Strategic and Political Issues of the Islamic World is a planning tool for progress and development in these areas and in this regard, the use of potential capacities in the college and research community of the great Islamic World is very important.

According to the mission of the International University of Imam Khomeini (RA), which aims to help spread knowledge in the Islamic world, establishing a quarterly journal which somehow could prepare the ground of fertility of the research capacities of the Islamic world and reflect the point of view of the thinkers of this field is so important.

Scope

The quarterly journal welcomes articles that covers the political and international issues of the Islamic World and is included various areas which as follows:

• Politics and government in one of the countries of the Organization of the Islamic Conference
• political and international issues related to Muslims in the world
• The situation of Muslims in different countries
• Explaining about the effect of the Iran Islamic revolution in the Islamic World and topics of Islamic Movements

Considering that there are many quarterly reports on Iran's issues, papers are considered that have a comparative look with an Islamic country and/or the significant impact of Iran's issues on the equations of the Islamic world is explained.
