Abstract

After the events of September 11, 2001, U.S. political and military operations began in Afghanistan, Central Asia and Middle East on the pretext of the global fight against terrorism. Among the regions that the U.S. now claims to spread democracy is the Middle East. In this paper, the definition of terrorism and the development of America's approach to democracy promotion in the Middle East after September 11 are discussed.
